Texas - El Capitan
31° 52' 41.1672'' N, 104° 51' 29.2716'' W
Not to be confused with the mountain of the same name in California, Texas' El Capitan is no exception to the rule "everything is bigger in Texas." The Texas peak measures 8,064 feet above sea level, while its West coast counterpart measures only 7,569 feet.
The design features a digitally-altered photograph with an impressionist / oil painted style. The background has a subtle topographic base pattern. The state outline is created with a series of high resolution digital brushstrokes and drips.
