Valley of Fire
36° 30' 27.234'' N, 114° 32' 6.5148'' W
The valley derives its name from its red Aztec sandstone formations which appear almost as flames when illuminated by the setting sun. The valley is also home to ancient petrified trees and petroglyphs that date back over 2,000 years.
The design features a digitally-altered photograph with an impressionist / oil painted style. The background has a subtle topographic base pattern. The state outline is created with a series of high resolution digital brushstrokes and drips.
