A prominent landmark on the Oregon Trail during the mid 1800's, Chimney Rock stands 300 ft tall above the surrounding plains. The earliest photographs and sketches of the rock show that it has shrunk considerably since the turn of the 20th century.
The design features a digitally-altered photograph with an impressionist / oil painted style. The background has a subtle topographic base pattern. The state outline is created with a series of high resolution digital brushstrokes and drips.
