Located in Cape Elizabeth and standing watch over the entry channel to Portland Harbor, Portland Head Light is the oldest lighthouse in Maine. The channel also provides access to Casco Bay, a scenic waterway that is home to several small, quaint islands that dot the coast.
The design features a digitally-altered photograph with an impressionist / oil painted style. The background has a subtle topographic base pattern. The state outline is created with a series of high resolution digital brushstrokes and drips.
